MY AFRICA...

Looking at the recent xenophobic crisis between South Africa and Nigeria as well as some other African countries, I have decided to write my very first poem about it. It goes…..
MY AFRICA…

Africa, Africa, the continent filled with black beautiful people loving each other, surviving, increasing and praying together.
Oh my Africa, do not forget the love we shared in the time past, when we loved  unconditionally, we helped each other overcome storms and conquer battles, we were one.
My Africa, you ones refused to kill each other but instead love, we once married ourselves out with no fear of war, we saw a brighter future ahead.
My Africa, what has happened between us, who has made us grind our teeth and cutlasses against each other’s skins that has made it difficult to love again.
My Africa, what has made us kill our own in cold blood without thinking twice, what has made us see ourselves as enemies instead of family.
Oh Africa, please do not forget the beautiful times we spent together, loved and cared for each other, do not let external bodies cause a breach between our hearts.
My Africa, do not let pain and rage divide a large black family like us, let us fight to love each other, there is no one like family, and Africa, you are my family.
My Africa let’s not fight each other, but come to an understanding and let peace reign……because we are “ SAME BLACK, SAME AFRICA”.
I LOVE MY AFRICA…
